1940s
- Ralph G. Adams, BS ch '41, is retired from Mobil. He resides in Sun City West, Ariz.
- Lyle Wheatcraft, BS arce '49, reports that on June 7 he shot his age (76) in a round of golf at the Isabella Golf Course in Hot Springs Village, Ark. Wheatcraft is retired and has been living in the area for more than seven years.
1950s
- Robert T. Smith, BS e '52, resides with his wife, Angelina, in Laconia, N.H.
- Joe Engle, BS a '55, is a consultant in Engle Tech. He and his wife, Mary Lawrence Engle, BFA '56, split their time between Colorado Springs, Colo. and Houston.
- Shad P. Garrett, BS c '55, can be found in Golden, Colo.
- James H. McLaughlin, BS ch '56, is senior engineer with Dearborn Professional Services Inc. In Bridgeview, Ill. He resides in La Grange, Ill.
- Ronald E. Hill, BS m '57, is president of Hemco Corp., a manufacturing firm. He resides in Lee's Summit, Mo., with his wife, Sue.
1960s
- George R. Ashworth, BS e '62, is an aeronautical engineer for Lockheed Martin Corp. He resides in Wrightwood, Calif.
- Dallas C. Wicke, BS a '62, retired in 2001 after 39 years with McDonnell Douglas, which is now part of the Boeing Co. He resides in Garden Grove, Calif.
- Loren E. Batchman, BS '63 ephx, is retired from Raytheon Electronic Systems. He resides in Solana Beach, Calif., with his wife, Nancy. He is editor and publisher of the CSA Journal, an orchid magazine.
- Kenneth J. Lynes, BS e '63, is electrical manager of Carbonair Environmental Systems, a remediation business in Minneapolis, Minn.
- Ray Stroup Jr., BS ch '64, is vice president of marketing for Stuller Settings, Lafayette, La.
- Robert A. Woodling, BS a '65, is chief engineer of product improvement 757 program at Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group, Seattle. He resides in Redmond, Wash.
- Robert W. Agnew, MS eh '67 and Ph.D. eh '69, is president and CEO of Peterson Industries, LLC . He resides in Ellison Bay, Wis.
- Rahman Ataur, MS c '67, left his position as project administrator of the State of Illinois Capital Development Board in 1996 and started working as executive director of a not-for-profit educational religious organization known as TINA. He resides in Glen Ellyn, Ill.
1970s
- Richard S. Beamgard, BS a '70, is retired from Ford Motor co. He and his wife, Cheryl, BS nursing '71, reside in Northville, Mich.

Thomas M. Murray, who received his doctorate in engineering mechanics at the University of Kansas in 1970, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the highest honors that can be accorded an engineer. Murray, the Montague-Betts Professor of Structural Steel Design in the Virginia Tech Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was elected for his leadership in developing criteria for floor serviceability and his major contributions to structural steel design engineering.
Murray was among 74 U.S. members and seven foreign associates elected from all engineering disciplines to NAE membership in 2002. Academy membership recognizes those who have made important contributions to engineering theory and practice and have demonstrated unusual accomplishment in the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology.
- Alan Cunningham, BS c '71, is project director with IA Interior Architects in Seattle. He resides in Seattle.
- Jerry L. Smith, BS c '72, is manager of environmental construction permitting with Duke Energy Gas Transmission. He and his wife, Joy, reside in Houston.
- Dennis D. Crowl, BS m '73 has moved to Mishawaka, Ind.
- William Grist, BS e '74, works as a global alliance manager in the CRM Solutions Group of Hewlett-Packard. His wife, Lisa, BS education '74, is a gifted and talented education teacher in the Upland (Calif.) Unified School District.

Gene McCall Jr. (BS m '74; JD '84; Ph.D. eh
'90) was named class speaker for Leadership Greenville Class
XXVII in Greenville, S.C. He recently wrote the new storm water
ordinance for Greenville County, S.C.
McCall reports that he grew up on a farm and after 30 years as a city boy, has moved back to one, where he raises Angus beef cattle. Home is in Piedmont, S.C. He still has his day job as an environmental lawyer at McCall Environmental, P.A. - Douglas K. Vrooman, BS c '74 and MS m '75, is president of Applied Drilling Technology Inc., an oil and gas firm in Texas. He resides with his wife, Jan, in Katy, Tex.
- Frank L. Mischlich, BS b '52, MS env '75; is retired from the Environmental Protection Agency, where he worked as a program management coordinator. He and his wife, Carlene, reside in Lenexa, Kan.
- Rich Frankenfield, BS c '76, reports that he and his son, Partrick, had the pleasure of being on a cruise during spring break 2002. The trip enabled them to cheer for the Jayhawks in the ESPN skybox on the Disney ship Wonder during the team's unsuccessful match against the Maryland Terrapins.
- Jay K. Lindly, BS c '76, is an associate professor of civil engineering at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. His specialty is transportation engineering.
- Patricia Adams, BS ch '79, MS env '93; is senior project manager with Harris Construction Company Inc. in Topeka, Kan.
- Dave Draxler, BS e '79, is a component engineer for Suntron Midwest Operations. He and his wife, Mariclare, reside in Prairie Village, Kan.
1980s
- John G. Aunins, BS ch '83, is senior director at Merck & Co. Inc. He resides in Doylestown, Pa.
- Ronald "Nick" Nicholson, BS c '83, is project manager for the Virginia Department of Transportation. He is overseeing VDOT's Woodrow Wilson Bridge Replacement Project -- a 10-year, 7.5 mile, $2.5 billion project which will replace the bridge and four approaching interchanges.
- Stephen D. Buehne (BS ch '84, MBA '86, MS ch '90) is a process engineer for Natural Starch and Chemical. He resides with his wife, Nancy, in Lenexa, Kan.
- Lee A. Carvell, BS ch '84, is a team leader for Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. L.P. in Bartlesville, Okla. He and his wife, BrenÈe, have two children Melissa and Tyler.
- Jerri R. F. Hanus, BS ch '84, is principal engineer with Procter & Gamble. She reports that she and her husband, Daniel, welcomed the family's third son, James on Oct. 27, 2001. He joins his two older brothers, Andrew and Zachary. The family resides in Cincinnati.
- Guy Green, BS p '85 and MS env '91, was named Professional Engineer of the Year by the Tulsa District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The award recognizes an outstanding professional engineer who has demonstrated noteworthy performance and significant career development. Green is a supervisory civil engineer with the Tulsa District's Hazardous, Toxic and Radiological Design Center in the Air Force. Mr. Green resides in Tulsa, Okla.
- Edward L. Terrell, BS a '87, and Elaine Terrell celebrated the birth of their first child, Katherine Marie, on April 25. The family lives in Dickinson, Texas.

Bob Lane, BS a '89, served as a satellite test
engineer in the U.S. Air Force after graduation from KU. Upon
completion of his military duty, Bob attended and received his
master's degree in Christian Ministries from Wheaton College
near Chicago. The Lord leads in mysterious ways and Bob returned
to engineering after completing his master's. He is currently
director of software test engineering for Instill Corp. in
Redwood City, Calif., the heart of Silicon Valley where he leads
a group of engineers who try their best to "break" the
company's software products before releasing them to
customers.
California weather and geography are a welcome change for Bob, compared to the educational years in Kansas and Chicago. Bob and his wife, Kelsey, enjoy their kid-less lifestyle by cooking, hiking, camping, reading, traveling and wine collecting. His e-mail address is: bob.lane@instill.com. - Allan S. 1990s
- Larry Bellmard, BS a '90, is principal systems and software engineer for Thales Training and Simulation. He resides in Tulsa, Okla.
- Troy L. Chockley, BS c '92, is a waste water engineer with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He resides in Jefferson City, Mo.
- Clinton R. Povich, BS a '92, MS a '97; is a flight test institute with Kohlman Systems Research. He resides in Lawrence.
- Christina Case, BS m '93, is a risk management engineer with Duke Energy Field Services in Houston. She earned an MBA from the University of Houston in December 2001. She also has served as president of the Greater Houston Off Road Biking Association for the past two years.
- Carrie Hoffmann Pepperdine, (BS arce '95) and her husband, John, CLAS '95, announce the birth of a son, William, on Oct. 21, 2001. The family resides in Lawrence, where Carrie works full time as a mom and part-time for PKMR Engineers.
- Katrina Stullken All, BS arce '96, is senior designer for Derek Porter Studio, an architectural lighting design firm. She and her husband, Matthew All, reside in Lawrence.
- Michael. F. Colangelo, MS a '97, is an engineer with Sikorsky Aircraft. He resides in Southbury, Conn.
- David L. Wood III, MS ch '98, works for SGL Carbon, LLC. He resides in DuBois, Pa.

- John M. Tucker, BS c 2000, is a project engineer with PSI. He resides in Kansas City, Kan.
- Kathryn L. Anderson, BS ch 2001, is a project manager in energy services for Williams. She resides in Tulsa, Okla.
- Tim Lietzen, BS c 2002, is an assistant civil engineer at Burns & MacDonnell. He resides in Kansas City, Kan.
- Philip a. Templet, BS m 2002, is an engineer for Black & Veatch. He resides in Eudora, Kan.
