The Engineering Career Center (ECC) offers comprehensive services to assist you with your recruiting efforts and enhance your visibility on the KU campus. Several of those opportunities are listed below.

Job Postings

Listing your intership and full time positions is free on our KU Career Connections Web site. This is a great first step, no matter what your application process! Since all KU career centers utilize the same system, any position you post – whether for engineering, business, or biology – is seen by qualified students all across campus.

Career Fair

ECC hosts a career fair in the fall and spring semesters. With about 900 students (fall semester) and 500 students (spring semester) attending each event, there’s hardly a better way to maximize exposure to KU School of Engineering students. Next-day interviews also are a convenient way to increase your visibility at KU.

Internships & Co-ops

The benefit of internships and co-ops are two-fold. First, after students complete opportunities with your organization, they share their experience with other students, which builds your reputation on campus. Second, these positions create a year-round source of highly motivated pre-professionals and a proven, cost-effective way to recruit and evaluate potential employees. On-Campus Interviews

Your presence for on-campus or next-day interviews will draw attention to your organization. On Campus Interviewing activities take place during fall and spring semesters. Recruit top Jayhawk talent in the comfort and convenience of our comfortable interviewing rooms equipped with internet service. Our office can assist you in setting up and managing your interview schedule using our online recruiting platform called Career Connections. Information Session

Conduct an evening or afternoon information session. We suggest using an interactive format where students can mix and mingle with recruiters as opposed to a formal presentation. Student Organizations

Connect with an  engineering student organization. These groups organize several events each year including guest speakers, parties, picnics. You also can offer to send a few representatives to review resumes of members. There are many ways to get involved.

Faculty

Host a faculty lunch or provide a senior design project or form a research partnership. Be creative to find ways to get to know the outstanding KU engineering and computer science faculty. Call  Patty Thompson at 785-864-4206 and she will be glad to facilitate your connection!

Student Events

Sponsor student events or better yet, host your own event for the students! Reserve the Jaybowl, hold a company day on campus, or if possible, host a tour at your facility. For more information contact  Patty Thompson , 785-864-4206.

Partnership Opportunities

The Corporate Partners Program is designed specifically to focus on recruiting talented high school students to KU. By participating in this new and vital initiative, your organizations is ensuring that the KU School of Engineering attracts additional qualified students to study engineering and computer science, and ultimately provides an increased number of skilled and talented applicants to fill your employment needs. Scholarship programs are another critical tool in recruiting students. Corporate scholarships help ensure that top students have the financial resources necessary to attend college. Scholarships can be tied into your company’s needs such as for specific majors, individual student qualifications, or geographic locations.

Equipment and other resources are always in demand within the School of Engineering. Sponsor a lab of equipment, donate funds for a specific instrument or provide funds for a research project. These are all great ways to promote your organization to KU students while investing in the quality and experience level of KU graduates!
