Why recruit at the KU School of Engineering?

  1. Accredited — All 10 undergraduate programs are ABET accredited.
  2. Well respected — The University of Kansas School of Engineering is routinely ranked among the top third of engineering programs in the nation. In addition, the outstanding faculty, students, and alumni are among the world's top industry leaders.
  3. Student Achievers — Students consistently perform well in national and regional engineering competitions. For example, in May 2006, KU took 4th place in the national SAE Formula Car competition.
  4. Real World Experience — Students acquire real world skills and learning through Senior Design Projects. In addition, 75% of students participate in internships & other experiential learning experiences
  5. Heart of the Midwest — The central geographic location of Lawrence, Kansas, makes KU an excellent recruiting target for many employers. In addition, KU students hail from various locations in the Midwest and are often described as possessing a "strong Midwestern work ethic".

  7. Enrollment Growth — In fall 2005, with over 2,000 engineering students KU Engineering continues to grow with the highest percentage of female 1st year students since 1998.
  8. Diversity — The KU Engineering Diversity Program is focused on increasing diversity enrollments and connecting diversity students with employers.
  9. Top-level engineering research centers — including two NSF-funded, multi-institution centers — give KU students at the undergraduate and graduate level unrivaled technical experiences and opportunities to excel.
  10. Low to No Cost Recruiting. Many of the recruiting services offered by the Engineering Career Center are free and the Career Fair fees are extremely cost friendly.
  11. Building Excitement — KU Engineering dedicated a new engineering building with state-of-the art engineering facilities including a Career Center suite designed with recruiters' needs in mind!
  12. The Engineering Career Center. The staff members in the Engineering Career Center are dedicated to helping employers achieve their recruiting objectives. Recruiters routinely comment on the high level of customer service and extra attention they received during their interactions with the Engineering Career Center. In addition, the Center is devoted to engineering and only engineering! The Center knows the needs of the engineering students and faculty.
