The usual purpose of a resume is to obtain an interview; thus a well
written resume can be a vital asset in the internship, co-op or job
search.
Five fast steps to a well-written resume

Read or review the resources on resume writing listed below (the
first two links contain helpful steps for students writing their
first college level resume)

Compose an initial resume draft

Have a Career Center staff member or career advisor review your
resume

Either schedule an Individual
Appointment, which are available on a year round
basis.

Or attend one of the Resume Review drop in sessions
offered at the beginning of each semester.

Revise resume as appropriate

Have your resume reviewed a second time (either by the Career
Center or at least proofread for errors by a detail-oriented
individual)

The Engineering Career Center has multiple print resume resources
available free to students, such as magazines and handouts. These
can be picked up in 1001 Eaton Hall or at either of the two Career
Center Express locations:
Main vending machine area on the 1st floor of Eaton Hall
Southeast 1st floor entrance to Learned Hall
Books on resume writing and cover letters can be checked out from
the Career Center library at 1001 Eaton Hall.
Please note that often those individuals seeking employment in
academia, e.g. candidates applying for faculty positions in a
college or university environment, will typically utilize a
curriculum vita instead of a resume. See the Academic Job Resources section.
