Registration Information
Interested in On Campus Interviews and Resume Referrals to Employers?
Students who would like to participate in the on campus interviewing
process and/or have their resume included in the Career Connections
system for referrals to employers, are required to register with the
Engineering Career Center. This registration process and small one
time fee provides students with full access to the Career
Connections system.
The Career Connections system is accessible 24/7 from any computer
with an Internet connection. Registered students utilize this
system to request and schedule interviews. Also registered students
upload resumes into the Career Connections system, where the resumes
are then either viewed by or referred to employers who are seeking
candidates for vacant positions.
All School of Engineering students have free limited access to the
Career Connections system, i.e. all students can view internship,
co-op, and job postings.
- Is registration for me?
-
Most students who are seeking a job, internship, or co-op
position will probably benefit from registering with the
Engineering Career Center. A student who ultimately plans to
attend Graduate School in an Engineering or Computer Science
related field can also gain an advantage from additional
opportunities for finding an internship or co-op position.
- When can I register?
-
Drop by the Engineering Career Center in 1001 Eaton Hall
anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to register. The
registration process only takes about 10 minutes and no
appointment is needed.
The earlier in the school year a student registers, the
greater the benefit. Some companies only conduct on campus
interviews in the fall of the year, so students who plan to
register, are highly encouraged to complete the registration
process by early September. There are students who wrap up
their internship or job search as early as mid-October for
positions that won't start until May.
- How much does it cost?
-
There is a one time fee of $25 to register with the
Engineering Career Center, which provides full access to our
Career Connections software system until six months following a
student's graduation from the KU School of Engineering.
-
Can I pay the registration fee when I pay for tuition and other
university fees?
-
Students may pay the registration fee either by cash or check
in the Career Center at 1001 Eaton Hall, or they can pay through
the University of Kansas Optional Campus Fees program. Products
and services purchased through the Optional Campus Fees program
will be billed with students' tuition.
Each student has the choice as to which optional products or
services he or she purchases, (examples include the All Sports
Package, KU on Wheels Bus Pass, as well as Job Search services).
Optional Campus Fees are only available during New Student
Orientation for new students and during the main enrollment
period for returning students. Students interested in paying
their registration fee through this program should simply check
the box next to "Job Search Engineering".
