  • What are the rules of the labs?

    The lab locations, rules, and available software are posted here.

  • Can I access the files I have stored on my SOECS Windows account from home?

    Yes, simply follow our tutorial.

  • How do I change my password?

    You can change your account password by visitiing: https://www.aims.ku.edu/password/.

  • How do I check how much space I have left?

    • Double click on "My Computer". Click on the Icon that has your username (its the U:\ one). That will bring up your folder and show how much space you have left on it. It should look something like:

      Free space

      The part on the left hand side of the window that says "Free" shows how much space you have left.

  • Where can I get an SFTP client for remote access to my files?

    Putty, a free ssh client is available for free from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/.

  • Where can I get web space?

    KU faculty, staff, students, and student groups have the ability to create a personal website on people.ku.edu. Learn about personal website hosting.
