Fire Protection Engineering
An introduction to human response, fire science, combustion calculations, compartment fires, piping and sprinkler design, and smoke management. Analytical methods, experimental data, codes, case-studies, and videos are presented in this engineering design course. Prequisites: ME 312 or C&PE 221 (Thermodynamics I) and ME 510, CE 330, or C&PE 511 (Fluid Mechanics), or consent of the instructor.
Required or Elective Course?
This is an elective course for undergraduates and graduate students. It is three credit-hours of engineering design.
